Clinton Missouri Newspaper

The only Clinton Missouri newspaper is the Clinton Daily Democrat. It has been in publication since 1868 and is published daily. It contains mostly local news from the Golden Valley area and some smaller communities such as Calhoun, Deepwater, Montrose, and Urich to name a few. Like a lot of small town newspapers it contains local church and school news. Also, unlike many larger metropolitan papers, it contains the police and sheriff reports were you can find out what the neighbors have been up to.

The Clinton newspaper also has a section on local school sports. They even cover some recreational league play. In addition, they have a local classified section and a local real estate section. The real estate section is comprised mostly of four by four ads placed by agents.

The Clinton Daily Democrat also publishes a weekly paper called the Kayo. It is primarily a paper containing a classified section, and the rest is advertisements. The Sac Osage Publishing has recently begun producing a similar paper called the Henry County Buyers Guide. It is basically the same format as the Kayo only slimmer. Also, the Kayo is a hand thrown paper; where as, the Buyers Guide is all mailed.

Many of the residents of Clinton Missouri and the surrounding communities also get their news from the Kansas City Star. Clinton is half way between Springfield and Kansas City; however, the majority of town prefers the Star.

Currently the Clinton Daily Democrat does not have an online presence. The paper is located at 212 South Washington St., Clinton Missouri 64735. If you would like to call the only Clinton Missouri newspaper their number is 660-885-2281.

  2. Truman Lake News has an actual subscriber base of 100 - as stated in their publication. They are distributed primarily through businesses based on the hope that people pick up the 4-page publication. It is the smallest and least circulated of the publications serving Henry County.

  3. That last anonymous post is incorrect. TLN has a circulation of 6,000 and is the largest circulation paper in the area. If you want news in Henry County, you pick up the Truman Lake News.

  5. The TLN is not really a newspaper only one persons view of nothing. It is only four pages so I don't consider it newsworthy. The owner posting above just wants you to feel it is worth picking up from his little boxes.

  6. The Truman Lake News is now out of business, so it is no longer an option for Henry County news.

  8. Hilarious the TLN owner was so adamant about his being a REAL newspaper with on-line access, only to go belly-up within the year. Really, if you're going to bluster, back it up!

  11. Mayor Sam Gibbons needs to be relieved of his duties. He is a failure just like Truman Lake news. It is unfortunate that the voters chose to replace the great mayor Gus Wetzel, who did so many things to make Clinton better, with a guy like Sam Gibbons who is only concerned with coercing the city council. I heard someone describe Sam Gibbons actions yesterday at the council meeting. It is a very low day for our great city when members of the community were describing a mayor who was throwing a tantrum and is just an overall disgrace. Fire Sam Gibbons, save Clinton Missouri.
